Partners and Support
Building HCWN together
HCWN stands at the meeting point of climate, Indigenous rights, media and data. To do this work in a grounded way, we rely on collaboration with communities, cultural and research institutions, and supportive funding partners.
Current support
Mongabay-India
Mongabay-India collaborates with HCWN as a host publication partner, providing a platform for fellows’ stories on climate, biodiversity, and environmental change. As an independent environmental journalism platform, it reports on conservation, ecology, and climate issues. The publication focuses on India while also covering cross-border environmental issues across South Asia.
Meander Magazine
Meander Magazine collaborates with HCWN as a host publication partner, providing a platform for fellows’ stories on climate, landscapes, and environmental change. The magazine focuses on regenerative living, exploring the relationships between ecology, culture, and place through long-form storytelling.
Icarus Complex Magazine
Icarus Complex is a media non-profit dedicated to exploring the systemic issues underpinning climate change and the vibrant pathways towards solutions. Icarus Complex Magazine collaborates with HCWN as a host publication partner, providing a platform for fellows’ narrative and reflective work. The publication explores themes of climate justice, culture, politics, and the human dimensions of the climate crisis.
Earth Journalism Network
The Earth Journalism Network collaborates with HCWN as a mentorship and knowledge partner, supporting fellows in strengthening their environmental reporting and storytelling. EJN is a global network that supports journalists covering climate, biodiversity, and environmental issues through training, resources, and collaborative learning.
Rooted Futures Lab
Rooted Futures Lab collaborates with HCWN as a training partner, delivering workshops and learning sessions that support fellows in developing their projects and practices. The lab focuses on community-rooted approaches to climate resilience, ecological knowledge, and regenerative futures.
We welcome collaboration with organisations that respect Indigenous knowledge, ethical research and community-led climate understanding. We are especially interested in partnerships with:
- Media platforms supporting responsible climate storytelling
- Universities and research groups working with community knowledge
- Philanthropic and public funders aligned with climate justice
- Grassroots and Indigenous-led organisations across the Himalayan region
Partnerships are developed slowly and in dialogue with communities.
Growing our network
HCWN is in active conversation with media platforms, universities and grassroots organisations interested in Indigenous-led climate knowledge from the Himalaya. As these collaborations become formal, they will be shared here.
If your work aligns with this vision, we invite you to connect and explore collaboration.
